Celebrating Literacy
This week we are so excited to support the efforts of the Literacy Volunteers of Bangor for their annual Literacy Tea! All of the tables at the event are decorated using a children's book as the theme. For the center piece, we created Mama Bird out of paper mache and then painted her with acrylic paint. Mama and Baby Bird in the smaller nests were made out of hand-painted wooden craft beads held together with pipe cleaners. The wings are made of felt and glued on afterwards. Themed tables centered around children's books are a wonderful way to bring creativity and reading together- perfect for literacy fund raising events, book themed baby showers, and book groups! Make reading part of the celebration!
