Read to Me! 1000 Books - play, sing, talk, write, grow

Martha Zschock is the author and illustrator of many well-loved children’s books and products, and is a former elementary school teacher. As a classroom teacher, she witnessed firsthand the dramatic difference in academic achievement between the children who had been read to frequently from an early age, and those children who had limited pre-reading experiences. When asked to help design an early-literacy reading incentive program for a local library in 2013, she jumped at the chance to help. Inspired by the success of the program and enthusiasm of the families, librarians, and teachers, Martha created Read to Me!, a board book that nurtures the loving bond between parent and child developed through reading together. Martha also created a companion reading log that challenges families to read 1,000 books to their little ones before entering kindergarten.
